I read a quote about taking action toward stemming the climate crisis that had to do with not waiting to take a perfect action. It was about hundreds of individuals taking some kind of action imperfectly rather than waiting for a handful of people to take the perfect path.

Of course we must be diligent to do no harm. I am not advocating being irresponsible.

Most people I speak to have one thing that is important to them. It could be carrying a water bottle to avoid buying a single use plastic bottle. My daughter Jen is a recycling warrior and my daughter Karen advocates for a simple life lived responsibly and self-sufficiently.

We can’t each tackle all the contributing factors that are currently impacting the climate crisis. However we can each take this issue seriously and take action on what matters to us.

If you do that and at the same time speak about what you are doing to others, momentum for change will build. It seems that a tipping point needs to be reached soon where we get real and each small act helps weigh the scale in the direction of tipping the scales. Both ways. You can also act in a way that adds fuel to the fire.

What side of the scale do you want to be on when history writes your story?
